We believe that the easy2email SMTP component is a unique solution due to the following:
- Easy to test. Install it and test the component without writing a single line of ASP code.
- Easy to implement. Install it and add a few lines of ASP or ASP.NET code and you have an implementation.
- Send messages in plain text or html format. A single property sets up the format of the message, you can specify plain text, html or any MIME format.
- Add attachment files to your messages. Add attachment files to your messages. You can even specify the MIME types of the attachment files.
- Authenticate to mail servers. With emerging threats from virusses and worms and excessive spamming a lot of SMTP mail servers require authentication before allowing a user to send email through the server. With easy2email you can specify a username and password and be authenticated by the mail server.
- Multiple Recipients. Add multiple recipients, carbon copy (CC) recipients and blank carbon copy (BCC) recipients.
- Multiple Reply-To Recipients. Add multiple reply-to recipients should the sender of the message and recipient to receive a reply differ.
- Log Activity. The easy2email SMTP component can log its activities to a text file or any database accessible with ADODB (for instance MS Access, SQL Server etc.).
- Connect once, send multiple. Connect once to the mail server and authenticate, then send multiple messages.
- Specify content transfer encoding. You can specify the content transfer encoding of messages to sent (for instance base64).
- Specify character set. You can specify the character set to use for message tranfer (for instance ISO-8559-1).
- Specify reference info. With logging enabled, a special field per message can be specified to let you correlate the message with data from your systems (for instance an order number, customer number etc.) .
- Exception handling. Specify whether problems encountered by the component should be sent back to the web page or just logged and ignored.
- Server-side solution. It is a server-side solution, therefore browser and client platform idependant.
- Use of Component Serveroces. The easy2email component is added to a separate COM+ package to improve reliability and process separation from IIS.
