Tips for Bluffing

When you’re playing Texas Holdem on FullTillt Poker you need to learn how to bluff so that you can play to your best potential. You aren’t always going to be dealt monster hands so you need to make sure that you steal a few nice pots every time you’re sitting down and playing a session. If you’re playing online poker you’ll have an advantage over playing live poker because generally you don’t play the same people when you play online poker, but when you’re playing at your local casino you’ll most likely know how the regular’s all play and they’ll know how you play.

There are a few circumstances when bluffing is profitable and although there is no guarantee that you will get away with your bluff you need to be willing to pull the trigger when you feel you can take the pot down. We’re going to look at some tips you can follow so that you have an idea of when to bluff your opponents.

* If you raise the pot pre-flop with a marginal hand and nothing in your hand hits the flop, but an ace is on the board then you can try and steal the pot at this point. Since you raised pre-flop most FullTilPoker.com opponents will put you on an ace so when they see the ace they won’t be calling you unless they have an ace and decent kicker or a good draw.

* A lot of players will bluff when they have been calling the flop and turn bets on the river. Generally someone will lead out betting on the flop and turn and then another player who has been flat calling will lead out on the river and make a big bet to steal the pot. Often this works because the person betting the flop and turn will have nothing.

* If you’re in a pot on FullTitlPoker.net with a couple opponents and there isn’t much betting going on pre-flop or after the flop then you can wait for a straight or flush draw to hit and act like you have hit your straight or flush. As long as your opponents don’t have the straight or flush and believe you somewhat then you should be safe for stealing the pot.

* If you’re chasing a straight or flush and it doesn’t hit then you’ll see that a lot of players find this a good opportunity to bluff. I don’t really know how profitable this bluff would be, but you can see how it works for you if you have the balls too make the move.

You need to keep one thing in mind which is simply you can’t bluff to much when you’re playing on FulTiltPoker.com because sooner or later or someone is going to call you no matter what they have just to see what you have.
